The Silzig lifebuoy, manufactured in France and approved by the French Merchant Navy (MMF), is an innovative 3-in-1 device for recovering a man overboard. Offering buoyancy, towing and hoisting on board, this buoy simplifies rescue operations at sea, even in bad weather. With an effective buoyancy of 145 N, it is an effective replacement for a crown or horseshoe buoy.
Thanks to its rigid handles made from 50mm tubular polyester webbing, the Silzig provides a firm grip and makes it easy to hoist aboard, without the need for a hoist or ladder. Compact and lightweight, weighing in at just 1.5 kg, it’s easy to adapt to any boat.
Since 9 February 2007, the Silzig has been officially approved by Bureau Veritas. It complies with current regulations and can replace the horseshoe buoy on vessels covered by Division 224.
