Oceansignal Spinlock AIS beacons are individual safety devices designed to be integrated into an inflatable lifejacket. In the event of a fall overboard, they automatically transmit an AIS (Automatic Identification System) alert to nearby vessels, as well as a DSC (VHF) alert to compatible radios.
The two models, MOB1 and MOB2, offer an AIS range of up to 5 nautical miles and a 24-hour transmission time. Compact and lightweight (92 g), they activate automatically when the vest is inflated, or manually. They are compatible with the main vests on the market, including Spinlock Deckvest, VITO and DURO.
They also provide invaluable light signals in the event of a man overboard. What’s more, they’re waterproof to 10 meters and have a 7-year battery life. The beacons are supplied, installed and ready to use. The MOB1 is a proven, reliable and easy-to-use model. The more recent MOB2 goes one step further, with bi-directional DSC technology, NFC connectivity for smartphones (MMSI programming, test history), and Class M compliance for restricted areas.
