The 180 kHz B&G ForwardScan® provides up to eight times the current depth, allowing safe navigation in shallow or poorly charted waters. Ideal for catamarans or sailing boats fitted with a ForwardScan® sleeve and blanking plug.
The 180 kHz B&G ForwardScan® provides up to eight times the current depth. This device is designed for boats already fitted with a B&G ForwardScan® sleeve and blanking plug. The transducer uses a forward-looking sounder to provide a clear view of the seabed ahead of your boat.
A clear view
The B&G ForwardScan® provides a forward view of 4 to 5 times the current depth. For example, in 3 metres of water, you can see the bottom up to 12 to 15 metres in front of you. In ideal conditions, you can even see up to 8 times your current depth. The 180 kHz transducer minimises interference with ordinary 200 kHz transducer.
An intuitive interface
You’ll be able to overlay ForwardScan® B&G depth data on maps. The 2D view provides a clear representation of the seabed as solid terrain, with sonar returns for deeper understanding. Customise depths according to your boat’s draught and be alerted to shallow depths with a dedicated alarm.
This transducer is often found installed on Nautitech catamarans: 40/44/46 Open and the 46 Fly. You can complete your installation with the Zeus 3, Vulcan or Zeus 2 displays with the SonarHub module.
